The Ionia Boys Track and Field Team finished 3rd at the D2- Region 13 Meet on Saturday May 21, 2022.  The Ionia boys scored 114 points to finish third behind 2 talented  Region 13 teams; Forest Hills Eastern (134.5) and Grand Rapids Christian (124).  

Team scores were as follows: 

     In the process of earning 3rd place, Ionia gained 9 PR’s, became all Region (top 8) in 25 events earning 33 medals for the day. Nine individual athletes will advance in 9 events to the MHSAA State finals on Saturday June 4th which will be contested at Forest Hills Eastern.  The requirements to advance to the State Meet are to either place first or second in the event or meet or beat Additional Qualifying Standards on the day of the Regional Meet. Athletes advancing are Travis Tucker (200M), Jimmy Peabody (400M and 4 X 400 Relay, Jacob Montgomery (800M and 4 X 800 Relay), Josiah Magley (4 X 800 Relay, 3200M and 4 X 400 Relay), Clay Currigan (110 Hurles and 300 Hurdles), Heath LaPointe (4 X 800 Relay and 4 X 400 Relay), Trevor Tooker (4 X 400 Relay), Andrew Gerdes (4 X 800 Relay), and Brandon Grant (Shot Put)
