The Ionia Boys Track and Field Team competed at the Division II, Region 13 Regional Track and Field Meet on Friday May 22, 2021.  The Bulldogs finished 4^th and Qualified 8 male athletes (in 4 events) on to the MHSAA State Finals on June 5^th.

The boys ended the meet with 8 State Qualifiers in 4 different events.  The State Qualifiers for Ionia were as follows: Clay Currigan 1^st in the 110 Meter Hurdles with a PR time of 16.40, Josiah Magley 2^nd in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 9:50.11, The 4 X 200 Meter Relay Team of Travis Tucker, Trevor Tooker, John Odette, and Jimmy Peabody finished 2^nd with a Season Record time of 1:33.65, and the 4 X 400 Relay Team of Jimmy Peabody, Colyn Ciganick, John Odette, and Lukas Schaffer finished 2^nd with a Season Record time of 3:32.00 just 0.01 seconds behind the first place team from Grand Rapids Christian (3:31.99).

Other Medal winners for Ionia were as follows: Travis Tucker in the 200 Meter Dash with a PR Time of 23.47, Jimmy Peabody in the 400 Meter Dash finished 7^th at 54.49, Killian Campbell in the 800 Meter Run in a PR time of 2:08.77, Austin Currigan finished 5^th in the 300 Meter Hurdles with a PR time of 44.73, In the Discus, Brandon Grant finished 3^rd with a PR throw of 130’-10” and Antar Miller was 6^th with a PR throw of 118’-9”. John Odette was 3^rd in the High Jump at 5’-7” and Kullan Granger was 5^th in the Long Jump with a PR jump of 18’-9.5”. The 4 X 100 Relay Team of Colter Clark, John Odette, Trevor Tucker, and Travis Tucker finished 3^rd with a season record time of 45.76, and the 4 X 800 Relay Team of Josiah Magley, Lukas Schaffer, Killian Campbell, and Jacob Montgomery finished 4^th with a season record time of 8:26.35.

The Bulldogs are in the Championship Phase of their season with the following meets remaining.  Wednesday May 26^th is the CAAC White Division Championship Meet at Lansing Sexton, The Greater Lansing Area Honor Roll Meet on June 1^st at Lansing Waverly and the MHSAA State Finals on Saturday June 5^th at Zeeland High School.
