FOWLERVILLE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 28
The Ionia 7th grade girls were outscored 13-3 in the final quarter Monday , losing to Fowlerville 28-19. The Lady Dawgs were up 8-4 in the first period and held a 1 point advantage at the half 12-11. The home team maintained the one point cushion after 3 periods 16-15 before the Gladiators mounted the winning rally. Ava Benedict led the way for the Home team with 9 points and 5 steals, Ava Bowen netted 4 pts. and handed out 2 assists. Olivia Lemke, Alex Jensen and Ash Ellsworth dropped in 2 pts each. Lemke added 6 rebounds and 7 steals and Ellsworth grabbed 5 caroms to help the cause. Ionia will travel to Charlotte on Wednesday as they try to avenge an earlier loss to the Orioles. Game time is 4:30.
