Tonight the Bulldogs hosted Waverly. The B Team jumped out to a 4-2 lead after the first quarter and never gave it up. In the second quarter the girls built a lead but allowed Waverly to cut it close at the end of the half, 11-10 Again in the third the Bulldogs built a lead and at the end of the quarter theywere up 19-14. The fourth quarter was a battle for the girls. Continued pressure from Waverly made it hard for Ionia to pull away. Waverly made it close but Ionia was able to pull out a close one, 21-20.
Leading scorers were Shauna Wheeler with 7 points, Kalyssa Hanses with 6 points and Ray Roberts and Allie Lanz with 4 each. Ioinia is now 2-3 on the season.
Next game is Wednesday, Feb. 19 and Portland.
