Tonight Ionia played their first game of a two-game tournament against Pewamo-Westphalia. It was a rough night for the Bulldogs. At the end of the first half, the Bulldogs were behind 34-9. In the second half, the girls played better on the defensive end which led to more baskets on the offensive side. Ionia eventually lost 52-29. The leading scorer was Tessa Lemke with 10 points. Other scorers were Josie Lee with 2 3-pointers, Grace Droste, Kylie Leonard, and Katie Leonard each had 3 points. Alexa Barna and Paislie Patterson chipped in 2 each. The girls will play on Thursday, March 3 at Pewamo-Westphalia against Charlotte to end the season.
