HAYES MIDDLE SCHOOL: 39
Tonight the Bulldogs came home with their first win of the season by beating Grand Ledge 49-39. Ionia jumped out to an early lead and never gave it up. Going into halftime the Bulldogs were up 27-21. In the third Grand Ledge was able to tie it up but the girls kept their composure and gradually pulled ahead. They hit 9 free throws in the fourth that sealed the win. Leading scorers were Aubree White with 24 points, Alexias Daugherty with 16 points, Stevie Gross with 6, and Tessa Masengale with 3. The Bulldogs are now 1-4. Their next game is Wednesday away at Eaton Rapids.
