PORTLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL : 40
The A team had a great first half. They executed the game plan and was able to slow down Portland. Two costly turnovers just before half put Ionia down 14-10. Portland came out and scored 3 unanswered baskets and went up by 10. The Bulldogs were never able to recuperate. Portland pushed the lead to 12 at the end of the third quarter and continued that momentum into the fourth. Ionia lost 40-20.
Leading scorers were Victoria Banks with 6 points, Emma White with 5 points, Lilly Reams with 3 points, Mimose Sandborn, Addyson Roundtree and Kyra Williams each had 2. Ionia is now 0-7.
Next game is Monday, Feb. 24 at Dewitt.
