LAKEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL: 15
The Ionia JV girls took two tough losses on Tuesday, May 21st at home vs. Lakewood. The first game Adah Drown pitched for the girls and had 6 strikeouts. She also went 1-1 with a walk. Ava Bucholtz went 3-3 and Bella Delgado went 2-3 but they just were not able to stop Lakewood, losing 7-14. The next game Ionia came out much stronger on the offensive end scoring 11 runs to start the first two innings. Bella Delgado went 3-4 and Adah Drown went 2-3 with a walk. The girls ended up not being able to get enough stops to keep the Vikings from coming back to win 15-14. Ionia fought the entire game and showed a lot of heart in tonights games. They have one final game tomorrow May, 22nd vs. Okemos at home.
