The Ionia Girls Junior Varsity Softball Annual Purple Game ended with two tough losses for the Bulldogs. The game meant much more than wins or losses as it was to honor and remember those who are fighting or have lost their fight with cancer. Ionia lost their first game 24-5 and the second game 14-4.
During the first game Mariah Stoakes went 1-1 with a walk and Tate Piche went 1-1. Jadine Bigger pitched for the Bulldogs. The second game was a much better game as far as hitting for Ionia and they cleaned up a lot of errors. Liberty Stanard pitched and Gabbi Meyers led the team going 3-3. Mariah Stoakes went 2-3 and Kaylee Schmid went 2-3.
The Bulldogs are now 1-13. They hope to continue their improvements into their next game at home against Portland on Tuesday, May 2nd.
