Girls Junior Varsity Softball Splits with Lakewood HS School

The Ionia Bulldogs split with Lakewood High School on Monday evening at Home. The first game they won 16-5 and mercied the Vikings in 5 innings. Victoria Gutierrez achieved the win pitching for Ionia, she also went 1-1 that game with 3 walks. Kaidence Thomas went 2-3 with a walk in the game, also attaining an inside-the-park home run in the second inning. Kennedee Ward and Rylee King also went 2-3 with a walk in the first game. Sadly, their win streak came to an end when they battled back to fall to Lakewood 8-9 in the seventh inning. The Bulldogs are now 13-10 and continue their season on May 18th, at home against Pewamo-Westphalia at 4:30.
