CENTRAL MONTCALM HIGH SCHOOL: 5
The Ionia Girl's Junior Varsity Softball team added two wins to their record on Thursday evening against Central Montcalm High School. The Bulldogs beat the Hornets 23-5 in the first game and 16-6 in their second game. Victoria Gutierrez lead the team to their win in the first game pitching with 7 strikeouts. On the offensive side, the whole team got at least one hit. Victoria Gutierrez went 4-5, Londyn Brown went 3-3 with 2 walks and Rylee King went 5-5. Ionia kept the bats going in the second game where Kennedee Ward, Chloe Witter, Zoey Guernsey, Nevaeh Stanard, and Londyn Brown all went 3-4. This brings the JV Softball team record for the girls to 12-9. They are aiming to continue their win streak on Tuesday, May 18th against Belding at Home.
