Girls Junior Varsity Softball Splits with Saranac HS

The Ionia Girls JV Softball team had the opportunity to achieve their first win of the season in opener at Saranac High School, but fell short in the following game of the double header. In the first game the bulldogs won 7-2. The second game they lost 10-6. They won with the help of Kamryn Perry, who went 2-3 and Kennedee Ward, who went 2-2 with a walk. Victoria Gutierrez also led them to their victory, pitching the entire game. The Junior Varsity team is now 1-1 after the split. Their next game is at home against St. Pats.
