The Freshman Bulldogs were on the road Thursday night to take on county rival Portland, A strong second half propelled the Dawgs to a 53-48 victory.

Ionia was led in scoring by Mason Braman with 16 points, including four 3 pointers and a couple of crucial free throws down the stretch.Carter Ralston had 13 points and Nolan Hart and Dawson Leland had 8 points each. Mason Clark had a great night on the defensive end with 4 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

Ionia travels to Alma on Tuesday night. Game time is 4:00
