Ionia Freshman Basketball defeated Portland 56-32 in Ionia. Ionia trailed at half 19-16. Second half Ionia finished strong with 40 pts for a home victory. The Bulldogs were lead by Caleb Shortz - 10 pts, Gaven Elvert - 9 pts, Carter Starks - 6 pts, Jaxon Palmer - 5 pts, Wyatt Erridge, Braylon Granger and Brent Starks - 4 pts each, Ryan Lee and Myles Perrien - 3 pts each, Travier Tucker, Tristin Ciganick, Christian Miller, Trevor Hodges - 2 pts each. The Bulldogs play home against Lansing Eastern on Tuesday Feb 8th at 4 PM. Bulldogs are now 12-1 on the season.
