Hart's Walk-off Picture Perfect Ending In Ionia Bulldogs Freshman's Victory Over Okemos

Ionia Bulldogs Freshman seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Okemos.  The game was tied at two with Ionia Bulldogs Freshman batting in the bottom of the seventh when Nolan Hart singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Ionia Bulldogs Freshman pitchers struck out six, while Okemos pitchers sat down ten.

Okemos knotted the game up at two in the top of the fifth inning, when.

Rowan Spearman got the start for the Freshman Bulldogs.  Throwing a complete game striking out 6 and walking only 1.

#32 started the game for Okemos. The bulldog lasted three innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out five and walking one.  #24 threw three and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Hart led Ionia Bulldogs Freshman with three hits in three at bats.  Ionia Bulldogs Freshman was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Caiden Sayers made the most plays with  six.  Ionia Bulldogs Freshman stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Carter Ralston led the way with two.

Okemos collected 11 hits on the day.  #40, #2, and #20 all had multiple hits for Okemos.  #40 went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Okemos in hits.  Okemos didn't commit a single error in the field. #40 had the most chances in the field with ten.

Ionia Bulldogs Freshman Loses Lead Early in Defeat
 

Ionia Bulldogs Freshman fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-4 loss to Okemos on Tuesday.  Okemos took the lead on a single in the first inning.

The Ionia Bulldogs Freshman struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Okemos, giving up 11 runs.

Okemos got things moving in the first inning, when #20 singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Okemos scored five runs in the second inning.  #32, #40, and #20 all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

#38 led things off on the hill for Okemos. The bulldog lasted three innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out four.

Roel Lopez was on the pitcher's mound for Ionia Bulldogs Freshman. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing ten hits and nine runs while striking out two and walking one.  Dawson Leland threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Carter Ralston went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ionia Bulldogs Freshman in hits.

Okemos racked up 11 hits.  #20 and #40 each collected multiple hits for Okemos.  #20 led Okemos with three hits in four at bats.  Okemos didn't commit a single error in the field. #33 had  five chances in the field, the most on the team.  Okemos tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. #20 led the way with three.

The Young Bulldogs are now 3-5 on the season.  They travel to Portland on May 1st to take on the Raiders.
