The boy's JV team played an exceptional game this past Saturday. With near-perfect weather, the team was ready to go out and put on a show. With the shortage of players the team has been experiencing, Greenville agreed to a 10v10 match. Our team pushed through this challenge and made the best of it. Although the final score didn't reflect what we wanted, with Greenville 3 and Ionia 0, the boys made excellent attempts at scoring. With Greenville up by one in the first half, one notable play was developed by our midfielders Luis Lopez and Johan Baeza. They had some good touches on the ball that ended up giving our striker Trevor Castillo a run on goal. Although the shot didn't turn out as we'd like, we used this as an opportunity to learn. In the second half, Luis showed his presence in the net with some good goal-stopping rejections. To our dismay, Greenville had two well-placed shots that our keeper was unable to get to. Giving Greenville two more goals for the end of the match. Trevor also retook his role as a center back and gave Greenville a challenge on our side of the field. We'll take this back to the drawing board and work on getting better as a team and individually.
