WAVERLY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 3
The first JV game of the season was off to a good start. With many of the guys eager to play. Waverly started off strong and caught us with an early goal as we were still acclimating, making it 1 - 0 through the first half.
We had good opportunities to score with shots from Emmanuel Cardoso, Yadiel Maldonado, and Hudson Kemp. Waverly’s goal keeper showed excellent composition and denied us the goals. Towards the end of the second half, Waverly picked up the pace and put two more goals in. Ending the game with 3 - 0.
We also had a great display of defensive skill from Carl Goeckel, Johan Baeza, and Trevor Castillo. Our goalkeeper, Luis Lopez, showed great determination to keep us in the game and had some great saves.
We are looking forward to the rest of the season and the continuation of improvement as a team.
