Ionia JV boys soccer traveled to Greenville tonight to play the yellow jackets. The Bulldogs started off well showing good ball movement in the first half in a back in forth battle for possession. Carl Goeckel started in goal and did well for his first time as keeper. He had 6 saves and allowed 1 goal. This led to Ionia going into the half down 0-1. They team didn’t give up though and battled back in the second half with a little help from Hudson Kemp scoring his first highschool goal! Derrick Santana and Brady Diebel both helped move the ball up the field that eventually led to Hudson’s goal. From then on, it was an even match with neither side giving up. The teams ended in a draw with the score being the Bulldogs 1 Yellow Jackets 1. Jaiden Bennett did a great job as goalkeeper in the second half not allowing a goal with 6 saves. 

Ionia JV soccer is now 1-1-1 on the season and will next be host to Lansing Catholic Central on September 20th @Home @5:30.
