The Ionia JV boys soccer team had their first game of the season Friday night. It was a good match vs Lansing Eastern’s JV boys squad. The game started off slow with Ionia controlling possession most of the 1st half and securing two goals one from Keenan Kubiak and another from Derrick Santana. In the second half Eastern was able to get on the board with 1 goal putting the game at 2-1, but the Bulldogs secured another 2 goals by Marcos Velasco and Carter Castillo putting the game out of reach at 4-1 and netting the JV Bulldogs their first win of the season. The highlight goal of the night started with Luis Lopez dribbling past a defender on the left wing inside the 18 yard box, assisting to Marcos Velasco, who assisted Carter Castillo in front of a wide open net to score. 

The JV Boys soccer team is 1-0 on the season and will next play Home vs Charlotte @5:30 on Tuesday September 6th.
