Ionia had 2 close games tonight vs Lansing Catholic. The Bulldogs lost the first game 3-4 and won the second game 4-3. 

Ethan Wenzel started the first game on the mound for the Bulldogs. Wenzel lasted 4 innings giving up 3 runs (0 earned), while striking out 2 and walking 6. Mason Braman pitched in relief for Ionia giving up 1 run on 2 hits, striking out 1 and walking 1. 

The Bulldogs were led in batting by Carter Ralston who went 3-4 at the plate with 2 singles and double. Caden Sayers and Mason Braman each had 2 hits while Bryce Hoppes had 1. Hoppes and Ralston each collected 2 stolen bases in the game as well. 

In the second game of the night Carter Ralston pitched a complete game. The righty pitched 7 innings giving up 5 hits and 3 runs (0 earned) while striking out 3 and walking 2. 

Mason Braman led Ionia at the plate in this one going 2-4 at the plate with 1 double, 1 single, and 2 RBI’s. Bryce Hoppes had 2 hits in the game and Ethan Wenzel collected 1 hit as well. It was Ralston (2) and Hoppes (1) stealing the bases again in the second game. 

Ionia JV Baseball is 7-11-1 on the season and will next play @home vs Durand on Thursday May 16th @4pm in another double header.
