Ionia JV Baseball traveled to Hastings tonight to play the Saxons in a double header. Ionia ends up winning the first game 11-4 and tying the Saxons in the second game 6-6. 

Teddy Sprank was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs in the first game. The lefty gave up 4 runs (0 earned) on 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0 in 5 total innings. Caidey Sayers closed out the game pitching 1 inning allowing 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 2. 

Offensively, the Bulldogs collected 10 total hits in this game. Braman, Ralston, Sayers, and Sprank each collected 2 hits apiece. Carter Ralston collected 5 RBI’s to go along with his 2 hits. 

For the second game Dawson Leland got the start on the mound for the Bulldogs. Leland allowed 6 hits and 6 runs (0 earned) over 4 innings, striking out 7 and walking 0. 

Offensively the Bulldogs collected 5 hits in the game, Carter Ralston went 2-2 at the plate, while Ethan Wenzel had 2 RBI’s. Other players to collect hits in the game were Leland, Crippen, and Melle. Nolan Hart and Derrick Santana each had 1 RBI. 

Ionia is now 4-7-1 on the season and will return home next Tuesday April 30th to play Charlotte @4pm
