Ionia JV Baseball splits with Olivet losing the first game in a close contest 3-4 and then winning handedly 17-1 in the second game. 

Roel Lopez was the starting pitcher for the Bulldogs, throwing for 3 full innings, giving up 4 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits, striking out 1 and walking 5. Caden Sayers pitched in relief throwing 3 full innings giving up 0 runs on 0 hits while striking out 4. 

Ionia was able to collect 7 hits in the game with Jude Gregory being the sole player to collect multiple hits in the contest with 2 singles. Ethan Wenzel and Carter Ralston both had 1 hit a piece and 1 RBI each. Ionia collected multiple stolen bases with Ralston leading the team with 2. 

Ethan Wenzel toed the mound in the second game. The lengthy right hander was able to pitch 3 full innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. 

Ionia amassed 9 hits in the game with Mason Braman leading the way with 3 hits in 4 at bats, while Riley Yokom had 2 hits in 2 at bats. Sayers had a double, while Wenzel, Sprank, and Hoppes each collected 1 hit each. 

Ionia is now 3-7 on the season and will travel to Hastings on Thursday April 25th @4pm for their next double header.
