Ionia JV Baseball had a conference matchup today vs the Portland Raiders. The Bulldogs lost the first game 3-8 and won the second game 13-4 

Carter Ralston was the starting pitcher in the first game for the Bulldogs. He pitched 4 total innings today giving up 3 hits and 2 runs (zero earned), while striking out 8 and walking 2. Mason Braman pitched in relief, pitching 2 innings giving up 6 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 2. 

Offensively for the Bulldogs Teddy Sprank had 2 hits in 3 at bats and Riley Yokom had 1 hit in 3 at bats with 1 RBI. Ionia was able to steal bases at a premium today, leading the way was Caden Sayers with 2, while Hoppes, Hart, and Sprank all had 1. 

In the second game Teddy Sprank pitched a complete game tonight lasting 5 innings. He gave up 5 hits and 4 runs (0 earned), while striking out 1 and no walks. The defense backed Teddy up well today making some timely plays to leave Portland runners on base frequently. 

Offensively Ethan Wenzel and Dawson Leland each had 1 hit on the night to lead the Bulldogs. Carter Ralston showed patience at the plate drawing 3 walks, helping the team secure 9 walks total throughout the game. Ionia was able to continue with good base running, securing 8 more stolen bases in the second game with Ralston leading the team with 3. 

Ionia JV Baseball is now 1 and 3 and will next face Haslett @home @4pm on Thursday April 18th.
