Early Lead For Charlotte Orioles JV Seals Fate For Ionia JV Baseball. Ionia JV Baseball watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 11-3 loss to Charlotte Orioles JV on Tuesday.  

Trevor Hodges was on the mound for Ionia JV Baseball. The righthander went three innings, allowing eight runs on four hits and striking out three.  Gaven Elvert threw two innings in relief.

Jaxson Palmer led Ionia JV Baseball with two hits in three at bats.  Palmer led Ionia JV Baseball with two stolen bases, while the team collected 5 bases total. 

Ionia JV Baseball Clinches Lead in Sixth Inning to Defeat Charlotte Orioles JV

Ionia JV Baseball secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the sixth inning.  The offensive onslaught by Ionia JV Baseball was led by Trevor Hodges, Mason Breman, Palmer, Christian Miller, Ryan Lee, and  Nolan Lundstrom, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Miller toed the rubber for Ionia JV Baseball. The pitcher surrendered four runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out ten.

Ionia JV Baseball collected 12 hits on the day.  Hodges, Hunter Roundtree, Miller, and Lee each racked up multiple hits for Ionia JV Baseball.  Hodges went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Ionia JV Baseball in hits.

Ionia is now 16-5-1 on the season and will next play @home vs the Lakewood Vikings on Thursday May 18th @4:00pm
