Ionia JV Baseball Falls to Portland After Seventh Inning Score

Trevor Hodges was on the mound for Ionia JV Baseball. The righthander allowed three hits and three runs over six innings, striking out three.  Piercefield threw one inning in relief.

After Portland scored two runs in the top of the sixth, Ionia JV Baseball answered with two of their own. Christian Miller singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run and an error scored one run for Ionia JV Baseball.

Ionia JV Baseball stayed in it until the end, but Portland pulled away late in a 6-5 victory on Thursday.  The game was tied at five with Portland batting in the top of the seventh when Colt Piercefield threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Portland.

Miller and Piercefield each collected one hit to lead Ionia JV Baseball.

Ionia JV Baseball knotted the game up at seven in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Ionia JV Baseball scored one run when Ryan Lee doubled.

Ionia JV Baseball scattered nine hits in the game.  Lee and Hunter Roundtree all managed multiple hits for Ionia JV Baseball.  Roundtree and Lee each managed two hits to lead Ionia JV Baseball.

Ionia is 11-4-1 and will look to get back in the win column next Tuesday May 9th away @Lansing Catholic @4:00pm.
