Ionia JV boys baseball team split with Holt JV tonight winning the first game 8-4 and losing the second one 14-7.

Tyson McDiarmid started on the mound for the Bulldogs in the first game pitching a complete game. The freshman went 5 innings giving up 3 earned runs with 3 strikeouts. Offensively the Bulldogs had 8 hits in the game. Garrett Lee started off the game with a triple to get the dawgs rolling and Matt McCoy went 2–3 with 2 singles and an RBI, while Lucas Wandell went 1-2 with a double, 1 RBI, and scored twice in the win. 

In the second game Garrett Lee started pitching throwing 2 full innings. Holt scored 14 runnings in the second inning off multiple hits while the Bulldogs committed several errors extending the inning. Matt McCoy came in for relief in the 3rd and held the Rams scoreless for the remaining 2 innings. Despite the loss the Bulldogs still managed 13 hits in the game. Miles Gregory led the way going 3-3 with 3 singles and 3 RBI’s. Garret Lee, Gage Flanner, Matt McCoy and Kolson Daughtery all had multi hit games as well. 

The Bulldogs are 15-12 on the season and will play East Lansing on Tuesday May 25th @East Lansing @4pm
