The Ionia JV Bulldogs traveled  to Alma on Friday night and came away with 1 win and 1 loss. 
 

Ionia started off hot winning the first game 10-4. Tyson McDiarmid started on the mound pitching 4 and 2/3's innings giving up 2 earned runs and striking out 4. Gage Flanner came in to close the game striking out 2 in 1 and 1/3rds inning. Offensively, Matt McCoy had a day at the plate going 3-4 with 3 doubles and 6 RBI's. Miles Gregory chipped in going 2-4 with 2 singles as well. 
 

In the night cap the Bulldogs lost 8-1. The bats cooled off in this one as Ionia was only able to muster 5 hits and 1 run compared to the 12 hits and 10 runs from the first game. Austin Baker went 2-2 driving in the lone run in this one after Lance Atkinson got on base with a single and was advanced by sac bunt by Miles Gregory. Alma managed 6 hits off Lance Atkinson and 5 hits off Matthew McCoy 

The JV Bulldogs are 12-9 on the season and will play the Lakewood Vikings on Monday, May 17th @Ionia @4pm.
