Ionia JV Baseball started out Saturday morning with a loss to Coopersville 7-1. Ionia started out scoring their only run in the first inning off a single from Gage Flanner with Garrett Lee on 3rd base due to errors from Coopersville and a stolen base. After that the JV boys fell short on the sticks not acquiring another hit while Coopersville was able to put up 7 runs on 11 hits in the game. 

In Ionia's second game of the day they played Saranac and ended up winning 16-1 in 4 innings of play. Matthew McCoy pitched a complete game giving up 1 earned run, striking out 4, and walking 4. The bats came alive in the second game with the bulldogs ending up with 12 hits on the day compared to Saranac's 1. Matthew McCoy led the way offensively as well with 3 doubles and a walk while Gage Flanner chipped in with 2 singles, a double, and a hit by pitch. 

Ionia JV Baseball is 6-3 on the season and will look to play @Lansing Catholic on Tuesday April 27th @4:00PM
