Ionia JV Baseball was able to come away with 2 wins tonight against Portland. The first game ended in a 16-1 mercy in 4 innings. Will Anderson pitched a complete game, striking out 6 and giving up 1 earned run. Offensively Ionia was also led by Will Anderson who had the hot stick with 2 triples and double to go 3-3 with 6 RBI's. Garrett Lee chipped in with 2 doubles at the plate and Matthew McCoy went 3-3 with a double and 2 singles. 

The second game was a much closer affair with the Bulldogs outlasting the Raiders 7-6 in 5 1/2 innings of play. Lance Atkinson, Carter Castillo and Garrett Lee all pitched in this one helping the Bulldogs get the win. Carter Castillo led the way offensively in this game going 2-3 with 2 singles and Will Anderson chipped in with another double in this game. Ionia had 9 hits in this game and Portland managed 8 hits of their own.  

Ionia JV baseball is 5-2 on the season and will look to play in its home tournament in Ionia on Saturday April 24th at 10am against Coopersville. Teams in attendance will be Ionia, Coopersville, Saranac, and Lakewood.
