PEWAMO-WESTPHALIA HS: 8
Ionia JV baseball lost the double header vs Pewamo-Westphalia this afternoon. The first game ended with the bulldogs losing 8-1 and the second game losing 18-4. Carter Castillo started the first game and pitched well for the first 4 innings only giving up 3 runs. Matthew McCoy was the only bulldog to score in the first game getting on base by a hit pitch and advancing around the bases through 1 stolen base and two wild pitches to score. The bulldogs performed better offensively in the second game out hitting Pewamo-Westphalia 6 hits to 4 in the game, the Pirates were just more patient at the plate drawing 19 walks.
The Bulldogs fall to 3-2 on the season and will look to get back on track against Portland this upcoming Tuesday, April 20th at 4 p.m. in Ionia.
