Ionia girls varsity soccer was defeated 2-0 vs Olivet in the CAAC cup final game on Thursday night.
Down 1-0 at the half, Ionia competed hard and took possession early, but we weren't able to string anything together in the final third of the field tonight.
Tessa Masengale continues to be the engine that drives our team and played exceptional all over the field tonight. Bailey Hewett has stepped into a large role in the second half of the season and again, played well tonight. Our defense has been huge for us all season and all of our defenders have played play after play all year.
Natalia Magallon and Kylie Leonard were effective out on the wing tonight to help build our offense.
Ionia will have it's senior night on Monday May 20th with a 7 pm varsity kick off. Senior night announcements will start before the game.
