Ionia girls varsity soccer took on Lansing Catholic on Saturday morning and came away with a 3-1 victory. For Ionia, this was their third game in three days but we showed no signs of fatigue and the girls showed out ready to play.
Addyson Roundtree opened the game with a goal 7 minutes into the game on a nicely played ball by Kylie Leonard. Ebony Williams would score the second goal of the game on a corner kick assisted by Kelila Rustin. Natalia Magallon would round out the scoring ith a second half goal to put the game away.
Tessa Masengale was all over the field, building up play from the back and defending with reckless abandon. Mimose Sandborn made play after play on the defensive end, and Kaylynn Doty would pick up the win in the goal.
Ionia improves to 5-7-3 on the season and will rematch lakewood on Monday night with a 7 pm varsity kick off in Ionia.
