Ionia girls varsity soccer battled hard on the second leg of a back to back at Lansing Waverly and ended with a 0-0 draw. It was a very defensive heavy battle with both teams having opportunities to finish. Neither team could put anything in the back of the net and both teams would leave with a blank sheet.
In the previous game, the offense put on the show, but the defense came to play today. Katie Leonard, Mimose Sandborn, and Josie Lee led the powerful defense. Isabelle Vasquez stood tall in front of the defense, breaking up play after play, and Kaylynn Doty recorded 7 saves to pick up her 4th shutout of the season.
Ionia varsity soccer record sits at 3-6-3. We will play at home vs Lansing Catholic on Tuesday May 7th with a 7pm kickoff.
