OLIVET HIGH SCHOOL: 0
Ionia girls varsity soccer ended in a 0-0 tie against Olivet on Tuesday night. Just 4 minutes into the second half, the game was called due to thunder and lightning, ending the game scoreless for both sides. Both teams had their opportunities to score in the first half but the goal keepers would steal the show for the night.
Kaylynn Doty has really started to come out of her shell back in the goal, and she would have 3 saves on the night, including what would turn out to be a game saving save to deflect the ball off the post of the goal.
Kelila Rustin would have 3 shots on goal in the first half, including one shot that bounced off the post. Addy Roundtree would have a shot on goal as well. Katie Leonard continues to be the staple of the defense for Ionia.
Ionia's record stands at 2-4-2 on the season. We will travel to Ovid Elsie for tournament play Friday night.
