Ionia girls varsity soccer was defeated by Lakeview by a score of 4-1 on Thursday night. Down 3-0 at the half, the girls continued to play hard and competed until the final whistle.
Alexa Barna recorded 6 shots on goal and scored the loan goal for Ionia. Kaylynn Doty was very active in tracking down balls on defense and recorded 5 saves on the night in goal. Kelila Rustin played well offensively and Josie Lee was the foundation of the defense on the night.
Ionia falls to 2-3-1 on the season, and will take on Fowlerville on Saturday with a 12:30 kickoff. Jv game starts at 11 am.
