The Ionia girls soccer team played tough tonight in an up and down, very fast paced game. Tri-County looked to get constant runs and breaks with their offense but we were patient and played a quick transition style tonight. The score was tied 2-2 at half but a couple costly errors in the second half resulted in a 4-2 final score in Tri-County’s favor. 

Rylie Dinehart scored both goals for Ionia tonight, one of which came off an assist from Avery Haney. Both girls have been consistent leaders for us throughout the season. Mimose Sandborn played her best game of the season on the defensive end, and Freshmen center mid, Alexa Barna helped dictate the midfield, putting together one of her best games of the season.

Ionia girls varsity soccer will start a road streak, as their next 6 games are all away. We travel to Fowlerville on Monday, May 1, with a 6:00 kickoff. There is no JV game on Monday.
