The Ionia Girls Varsity Soccer team played a tough game that ended in a 2-2 draw vs Lakewood on Monday night. We controlled the ball for most of the night but Lakewood made their chances count to hang around.
Rylie Dinehart drew a foul late in the first half and then scored on the free kick that followed to tie it 1-1 which is how the score would end at the half. Lakewood scored early in the second but Sadie Wilson drew a foul inside the box midway through the second half and Rylie Dinehart would score again, this time on a penalty kick.
Isabelle Vasquez continues to be a workhorse in the back, logging her second complete game on defense, while Kelila Rustin continues to help control the midfield.
Ionia will take on Hastings on Wednesday in Ioni, with a 5:30 jv kick off and a 7:00 varsity start time.
