WAVERLY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 3
The Ionia Girls Varsity Soccer Team was defeated by a score of 3-2 Wednesday night. We were down 3-0 at halftime and had to do a little bit of self reflection from the first half. The girls came out and answered the call in the second half. We played hard, we played together, we played tough, and we fought our way back into the game.
Kara Kramer-Lake was huge for us upfront as she put pressure on the defense and scored yet another goal, her 6th of the season. Marte van Diest continued her stellar play and scored her first goal of the season. Tessa Masengale continues to log huge minutes and played a great game on the defensive end.
Ionia will start the conference tournament next week, with times and locations TBD.
