The Ionia Girls Soccer Team was defeated by a score of 6-0 in their season opener on Friday night.
Anyone that watched the game would tell you that it didn’t feel like a 6-0 game. The possession of the ball was split close to 50/50 and we had a lot of good shots on goal that we weren’t able to capitalize on. We had a hard time adjusting to the turf field but the Bulldogs didn’t go down without a fight. We played hard until the end and have a lot of good things to build on.
Kelila Rustin was a warrior back in the goalie box as she was kept busy all night and recorded 25 saves in the game. She BATTLED back in the goal and did a great job.
