The Ionia girls opened up league play today with an exciting win over Eaton Rapids 39-35.  They struggled in the first half but fought back.  Freshman Logan Thomas hit a 3 pointer with 1:32 left to tie the game.   Junior Lexi Daugherty made a bucket to put us up by 2 then Junior Aubree White went to the free throw line sinking them both putting us up by 4.  Leading scorer was Aubree White with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.  Junior Lexi Daugherty had 10 points, 4 steals and 2 assists.  Freshman Logan Thomas had 6 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds.  Sophomore Tessa Lemke had 5 points,  5 big rebounds in the 4th quarter.  Senior Emma White had 2 points, and battling hard pulling down 5 rebounds.  She also had 2 steals.  Sophomore Josie Lee brought a spark and contributed with 2 points.  The bulldogs are now 2-0.   They are 1-0 in the league. They play home next Tuesday, December 12 against St. John's at 6:00.
