2023-24 IMS SPORTS REGISTRATION

Ionia Middle School offers the school sponsored sports of boys and girls track and field for 6th, 7th and 8th grade IMS students for the spring sports season.  It also works in cooperation with the High School Varsity Coaches, Youth Sports Programs, and the Ionia Parks and Recreation Department to offer the Junior Bulldog programs of Youth Soccer, Youth Softball, and Youth Baseball (see Junior Bulldog information below).

Any students interested in playing a school sponsored sport must have a current physical (completed on or after April 15th) before participating.  Sports physicals must be uploaded when you register on Student Central starting August 8th.  Please stop out to the athletic department office at the HS if you need assistance registering or contact Wendi Gross wgross@ioniaschools.org or 616-841-4010.

Registration can be completed online or in the Athletic Department Office at the HS:

• Go to https://studentcentral.bigteams.com/ and create an account (Parents and students must each create an account).

  • You can also access help by clicking on the Self Help tab on the right side of the page.

• In person registration may occur during normal business hours from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm at the HS with athletic secretary Wendi Gross.

Registration requirements:

1. Create Parent and Student account

2. Complete all forms

3. Complete Handbook/Athletic Code acknowledgment form

4. Upload completed physical (please contact the athletic department office for help)

IPS and the MHSAA require all athletes to have a current physical on file for the 2023-24 school year to guarantee their health and safety.  Click on the link for physical forms and directions

*Please note that you can register for any IMS school sponsored sport you wish to play at this time.  Also, if you have registered already you do not need to register again.  Just log into your account and make sure you have selected the school sponsored sport you want to participate in.

• Open Runs Tuesday 3/19, Wednesday 3/20, and Thursday 3/21 for any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade boy or girl from 3:00-4:00 at the MS

• Practice Begins:

  • First Practice for Girls: Monday, March 25th 3:00-4:30 at the MS.

  • First Practice for Boys: Tuesday, March 26th 3:00-4:30 at the MS.

  • First Combined Boys and Girls Practice: Wednesday, March 27th 3:00-4:30 at the MS

Junior Bulldog Sports Programs

The Junior Bulldog Sports programs are not school sponsored, but are run in cooperation with the Ionia Athletic Department, High School Varsity Coaches, Youth Sports Programs, and the Ionia Parks and Recreation Department.  These programs are offered to Middle School Aged students and younger.  Here are the sports programs offered in the winter:
