Congratulations to Ella Udell and Carter Starks who were named Independent Bank Student-Athletes of the Month for November.  Both student-athletes will be recognized by Independent Bank representative Boomer Hoppough on December 12th at the IHS student awards ceremony.  The award is presented to seniors based on leadership, academics, and athletics.  Each student-athlete now qualifies for a chance to win the $1000 Independent Bank Student-Athlete of the Year scholarship presented on senior night to one male and one female athlete.

November Female Athlete of the Month: Ella Udell

Parents: Joel and Jenny Udell

College: MCC to MSU

Major: Sociology and Economics

Sports: Volleyball (1 yr)/Swim (3 yrs), Dance (1 yr)/Powerlifting (3 yrs), and Track and Field (3 yrs).  Will be a class of 2025 Block of Honor winner.

Academics: Academic All-State Swimming, CAAC Scholar-Athlete, IHS Scholar athlete, and Bulldog Scholar.

Leadership: Leadership committee for Powerlifting - 2 years, Varsity Swim Captain - 1 year, Prom Committee, Bridges, Unified Sports, College Advisors, Volunteers with Middle School Swim and Middle School Track.

November Male Athlete of the Month: Carter Starks

Parents: Brad and Jessica Starks

Career Path: Plans to obtain his real estate license and join a commercial real estate team.

Sports: Football 4 yrs., Basketball 4 yrs., and Baseball 2 yrs.

Academics:  CAAC Scholar-Athlete, IHS Scholar athlete, and Bulldog Scholar

Leadership: Football team captain junior and senior year, volunteers at youth basketball and football.

Both Ella and Carter are not only successful in their respective sports but in the classroom as well, and serve as great role models for our younger athletes.  Congratulations to both of them for being recognized as the Independent Bank female and male student-athletes of the month for November!
