On 3/4/25 Ionia Bulldogs traveled to Haslett Middle School for our season's final Dual. Ionia took a victory against Haslett going 45-21, and losing to Waverly 18-31. 

Our Athletes who ended the season with a win were Khloe Eagen going 1-0, Olivia White 1-1, Juliette Stoakes 2-0, Lincoln Lance 1-1, Jordan Shattuck 2-0, Cylis Piche 1-1, Lorenzo Lopez 1-1, Jordan Wieland 2-0, and Vincent Darling 1-1. 

I am so unbelievably proud and happy for what all of these athletes accomplished, this will end our season with 1-13-1. Looking forward to seeing how our team will grow next year!

Tonight our Bulldogs fought hard even though we as a team took 8th we had many individual victories. Two of our athletes (Conrad Wolthuis and Juliette Stoakes) went undefeated 4-0 and earned a first-place medal. Also taking victories for the team was Wyatt Johnson going 3-1, Lillyanna Wilks going 2-2, Khloe Eagan going 1-3, Kyler Robinson going 1-3, Olivia White going 3-1, Ashton Lemke going 2-2, Eli Solis going 1-2, Cylis Piche going 2-0, Jordan Shattuck going 1-1, Jessa Shattuck going 2-0, and Jordon Wieland going 2-2. All over our Bulldogs have made immense improvement. Ionias's next meet will be on 2-25-25 against St. Johns and Williamston. This Dual will be held at St. Johns Middle School, starting at 4:30 pm. Ionia ends the day with a record of 0-12 again all these wrestlers have made tremendous improvements. 

Ionia Middle School hosted their second home dual of the year, competing against Portland Middle School and Dewitt Middle School. While the team faced tough challenges and unfortunately came away with losses Portland at 16-56 and Dewitt at 12-64 there were some standout performances. In the match against Portland,Conrad Wolthuis, Jessa Shattuck, and Vincent Darling all secured victories with impressive pins. Against Dewitt, Conrad Wolthuis and Jordan Shattuck also showcased their skills with pin victories. Although the team's record stands at 0-8, they are looking forward to their next meet on February 21, 2025, starting at 5 PM, which will be Ionia's home team tournament.

On 12/11/25 Ionia Middle school traveled to Holt middle school for an away dual. Ionis faced Lakewood and Holt losing to both team Lakewood 38-69 and Holt 16-83. Against our dual with Lakewood we had Wyatt Johnson, Conrad Wolthuis, Ashton Lemke, and Braidyn Stoakes all scoring for the team. As for our Holt dual we had Jessa Shattuck putting us on the scoreboard. Everyone fought well and didn't give up! Our next event will be 2/14/2025 Grand Ledge tournament. It will be held at Beagle Middle School staring at 4:30pm.

On Sunday our middle school girls made their mark at their first girls-only tournament, hosted by Fowlerville, where they showcased their skills in a round-robin competition. Every single one of our girls took home a well-deserved medal, with Juliette Stoakes securing 3rd place with a 1-2 record, Khloe Eagan placing 4th, Jessa Shattuck finishing 2nd with a 1-1 record, and Lillyanna Wilks also placing 3rd with a 1-2 record. These talented ladies demonstrated remarkable determination and perseverance throughout the tournament. Special thanks to Olivia White for her invaluable support and for keeping our medical bag safe. Ionia Middle School vs Charlotte Middle School

Ionia Middle school Wrestling team traveled to Charlotte Tuesday evening for a double dual meet against Charlotte and Eaton Rapids.  The Bulldogs fought hard but came up short in both matches.

Scoring for Ionia were Lorenzo Lopez and Jordon Wieland  winning by a pin against Charlotte. While no one else scored a victory we gained valuable experience against quality opponents. 

Ionias next dual will be a home dual located at the IMS, starting at 4:30. 

Lakewood Middle School Tournament Results

Yesterday Ionia Middle School Wrestling traveled to Lakewood HS for their first tournament. We had many wins and 4 boys placed 4th. We had Harlo Nunez placing 4th, Conrad Wolthuis going 3-2 along with placing 4th,  Kyler Robinson going 1-2, Ashton Lemke going 1-2 placing 4th, Juliette Stoakes going 1-2, Lorenzo Lopez going 1-2 along with placing 4th, Jordan Shattuck going 1-2, Jessa Shattuck going 1-2, and Joradon Wieland going 1-2. Our next meet will be a dual at Charlotte Middle School starting at 4:30 pm.
