Ionia's Varsity wrestling team traveled to Forest Hills Eastern tonight to compete in the Team districts. Ionia Wrestled very tough tonight winning 6 of the 10 actual matches wrestled but unfortunately we lost in round to Forest Hills Central 38-38 on the sixth criteria (The team giving up the least number of forfeits.) . This meet brings our team dual season to an end with a dual record of 5-19 this season. Earning wins tonight were wrestlers; Wade Charon, Ricky Charon, Aaron Wolthuis, Jackson Stoakes, Wyatt Berry, Jonathan Rico, and Drake Wittenbach. Ionia will be back on the mat his weekend to compete in the Individual districts where our boys travel to Harper Creek Saturday and our Girls will travel to Hastings Sunday.
