Ionia hosted our last home quad of the year wrestling a dual against Lansing Catholic and then Williamston. In round 1 Ionia won the dual against Lansing Catholic with a score of 48-34. In round 2 Ionia fell to Williamston 70-12. The Charon brothers were our only wrestlers to finish the night 2-0; Richy Charon at 113 lbs and Wade charon at 106 lbs. Drake Wittenbach also had a great match vs Lansing Catholic where he pinned his opponent after falling behind 4-2; Drake won by pin fall in the 2nd period! Also earning a win tonight were wrestlers; Chad Campbell, Ty Daniel, Aaron Wolthuis, Jackson Stoakes, and Jayden Dornbos. Tonight we were also able to shine some light on our seniors and celebrate senior night. Ionia has 4 seniors on the team this year Sarah Schafer, Ricky Charon, Jack Wickham, and Jonathan Rico. Thank you Seniors for your dedication and hard work! Ionia Boys wrestling will be back on the mat next week Wednesday to finish our CAAC dual season at East Lansing.
