Our girls wrestling team had a great day on the mat at the Fowlerville tournament Saturday . Ionia had two girls wrestling Saturday both having large brackets, and both placed. Elenor Hyland had a big win by tech fall today to take 8th place! Sarah Schafer had a great day going 3-1 taking 2nd place. Sarah wrestled two other state qualifiers in her bracket today pinning her 1st three opponents today then taking a loss in the finals. In the finals, Sarah was up in points with a take down and nearfall before getting rolled through.
Our Ionia Girls team has another girls tournament next Sunday at Plainwell high school.
