Fawell, Mi - On a cold snowy morning, six Bulldogs and their families made the early trek up M-66 to Farwell, a trip Balto would have been of his fellow canines for making. Although this trip did not take vaccines to the sick, it did bring home silver or bronze for each bulldog lifter. 

During the morning sessions, Ava Benedict, Tabitha French, and Summer Clark showed their GRIT by recording multiple personal records in several lifts and bringing home Silver Medals each. Planning on using this meet as practice for next week’s high-intensity Mona Shores Regional, these Lady Dawgs are starting to realize the power that exists within themselves. 

Setting the bar high, the Ladies challenged their three male counterparts to rise in the afternoon, and accepting the challenge, they did not disappoint. 

Connor Morrison bumped up a weight class and ended up setting personal records(PRs) in all three lifts finishing the day taking Third. Riley Jerome finished third after setting PRs in the squat and deadlift. Finishing the day as our only male varsity lifter was Wolton Sandborn lifting in his first meet of the season. Crushing his previous bests in all three lifts, Wolton finished with a 965 total taking third place. Impressively jumping 45 pounds on his final lift for a 440 deadlift at 176 lbs. 

Next week the team heads to Mona Shores High School for our final regional of the year. All qualifying lifters then have the opportunity to lift at the JV state meet or Varsity state meet the following weekends.
