Norton Shores, Mi—On a sunny February day, the Ionia Bulldog Powerlifting team made the trek to the friendly confines of Hanichen Gymnasium for the Mona Shores Regional Powerlifting meet. This was the final meet of the season before the state championship meets. It was a day of celebration, joy, tears, and progress.

The morning started with the Ionia Bulldog JV Women’s Powerlifting Team taking first place while the Women’s Varsity team placed third. The women performed well throughout the meet and brought home a lot of hardware.

In the afternoon, the men carried on the tradition of the Bulldog GRIT and performed very well. The JV men brought home a 4th Place finish out of the 19 JV teams competing. The Varsity Men’s team brought home a 6th-place finish out of the 25 varsity teams in attendance. 

Next up are the JV and Varsity MHSPLA State Meets. We will let the community know who has qualified as soon as the names are posted.
