Ionia, Mi—Sometimes, it takes a while for athletes to buy into a program and evolve into the identity they want to be. Sometimes, the leadership of the upperclassmen grabs the hands of the youngsters, and they run forward into the future when the vision is clear and the path is illuminated. Saturday, that vision became clear as the Ionia Powerlifting team gave notice of what was to come.
In hosting their first home regional meet since hosting the MHSPLA 2019 State Meet, the Ionia Powerlifters put on an outstanding performance in their first competition of the year. All four teams finished top three on the day. Both Varsity teams placed Third on the day. Both JV teams took home First place hardware.
