2024 Lakewood Invitational at Maple Valley
The Ionia Girls Track and Field Team competed in the 2024 Lakewood Invitational held at Maple Valley High School in Nashville, Michigan. The meet was held at Maple Valley due to the condition of the Lakewood facilities. The weather was beautiful with sunny skies and temperatures hovering around 60 degrees.
The Ionia Girls finished 5th out of 12 participating schools. The girls recorded a total of 6 PR’s including a School Record tying jump in the Pole Vault by Mimi Wegener at a height of 10’-6”. The Invitational used the MITCA True Team Scoring where every athlete scored points for their team based on how many opponents they finished ahead of.
